my favorite thing about Hollywood Blvd are the empty, unnamed stars.
to me, they are full of possibility.
I felt this same way over a decade ago when I came to LA for the first time
and was given the assignment
to pick a favorite star on
the famous boulevard.

I chose an empty one.

So, on one of the first days at my new job (hey, @danceon 👋), it didnt surprise me that,
while walking to lunch,
I looked down and
landed on an empty star.
It was the best reminder of who I’ve become, mixed with pride and insane gratitude.
This year has been simultaneously challenging and beyond beautiful, especially in decidedly leaving the work I’ve loved to do for so long. But, it’s all been for the sake of growth and a deep knowing that change doesn’t mean cutting things out of your life but rather keeping what you need and honoring how wonderfully complex that makes you.
I’ll let the resolutions and goals eventually form but instead, right now, I’m taking some time to honor these past 365 days because, holy shit, it’s taught me so much.

Happy happy, new year! May we all find our star and land right where we need to be ⭐️
